Note: The grey remote has been replaced with the more powerful black remote with a far better range and reliability

If you have the older grey remotes and find you are having range issues please check the receiver located in the control box of your gate opener. Insects find there way into the black receiver box and affect the electronics. You can also make slight adjustments to the freq using a small screw driver on the freq adjuster screw located within your remote. A tiny 5 degrees (or less) of rotation may work. Mark with a pen where the current screw position is before you start so you have a location point to go back too. Ask us for assistance and we will be only too happy to help.

Receiver box which is inside your control box is black with green or blue antenna wire, red is positive 12v, black negitive, grey relay 1, brown relay 2 and white signal com.

How to tune a new E-8 remote. www.EasyGate.co.nz

Step 1: Remove the fastening screw from the back of the NEW remote with a Philip head driver.

Step 2: Do the same with a remote that is currently activating your gate correctly.

Step 3: Locate the white switches on the remote PCB board.  Match the setting for each switch of the old remote with the same switch of the new remote. Each switch has 3 settings…top middle and bottom.

Note: Some PCB boards have the numbers on the opposite side of the switch plate. Position both the new and the old remotes on the table with battery at the bottom. Match the switches in this position.

Step 4: Test the new remote activates the gate prior to re-assembly.

Check battery is correctly installed and the right way around (red LED light should shine when button is pressed) Check battery condition with a standard volt metre with 12v DC of power.
